News / Updates

I have just recently purchased the Arms and Equipment guide. While interesting, the shining jewel of this book (the entire reason I bought it) is that it includes rules for vehicles and whatnot. More specifically, zepelins and dirigables. I had been toying with several ideas of how people in Esaria travel from land fragment to land fragment, one of which was the idea of airships. So today I should be introducing rules for dirigibles and such.

Recent events (the flattening of my HDD and the installing of a crisp, clean new copy of Windows 2000) has lead me to a discovery that, in my wonderful arrogant state, had not occured to me. Not everyone has the papyrus font. So, another reason to get rid of it and find a more suitable font. I think I will redesign the page again in the process.

I actually made the page all pretty now, as opposed to the pure text monstrosity that it once was. Not that the new look is gorgeous, or anything. It is tolerable at best.

However I do enjoy the concept behind it (the middle menu with news on the left and content on the right). Unfortunately this works best with the larger resolutions, and turns into a jumble with smaller resolutions. Yet I, as usual, am too stubborn to bend my creations to the system requirements, petty gripes, and delicate senses of other people.

Hmmm . . . now that I look at it, I may change the text used for the banner and menu. Papyrus is a nice font, but I do not believe an egyptian-style font is all that appropriate for a fantasy realm. Ah well, I will deal with it later.

Every time I change something I will post an abbreviated description of what was changed in the "Updates" section. Here is where I will put any real news that is other than updates.

Keep in mind that this is a work in progress, and not all the options on the menu exist yet.

Note: the resolution I use currently is 1280 x 1024 pixels, and that is what I recommend for viewing this page. Resolutions set slightly smaller will function, and the page is viewable down to about 800 x 600. Even that is jumbled, and going any smaller is a fruitless effort that turns the entire page into a mishmash of pathetic garble.
